Stack Overflow error line 3 in IE8

    Hi,

    Can anyone tell me how to fault find a stack overflow error. My site loads and works fine in IE9, IE10 and Google Chrome but when viewed in IE8 I get a “message from webpage” error saying “stack overflow at line 3” when every page loads. All the content seems to work fine its just the message box giving the error.

    Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Thirteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

    I have just run developer tools and it says this in the console.

    SCRIPT28: Out of stack space
    jquery.js, line 3 character 10268

    not sure I am prepared to take everything to bits so early on.

    Just in case, backup your database and then do what esmi suggested.

    You are not taking anything “to bits”. There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is basic troubleshooting – a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.

    Your theme & plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.
