Support » Plugin: Seriously Simple Podcasting » SSP cannot calculate MP3 file size

  • Resolved Fishus

File size calculation seems to have broken on my installation of SSP. It would seem to have broken after a recent update, either to SSP or Jetpack. I have a number of plugins installed on my instance of wordpress, but SSP was working before the latest updates of these plugins.

If I try to create a new post from scratch with the MP3 attached, the posing will fail giving me a blank page at the post.php address.

If I post without the MP3 it will add correctly.

If I then add the MP3 and update, the post is displayed, but only half of it appears and with no CSS implemented (all things considered it probably choked on the media player element). In this state, when I look at the post, neither the display size, nor the raw size attribute are populated. Also the RSS feed returns a HTTP 500 (internal server) error.

When I populate the sizes manually, the post appears OK, and RSS functions normally.

I can work around it for now, but the automatic size method was handy. Would you need any further information for a fix?

    Hi there,

I will look into this and see what I can work out. If I find an issue in SSP I will fix it in the next release.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
