 * Hello.
 * Yes, this is a general support forum for wordpress? So, why do I post this here?
   Might be a plugin problem, right?
 * It’s not. I have done troubleshooting and asked plugin developers for help. The
   problem persists.
 * The problem is:
    Since SSL via Let’s Encrypt is activated, no plugin is able
   to count unique visitors properly. I have disabled every plugin at once. No change.
   Of course, there cannot be change because of the deactivated plugins. But I tried
   external tools like google analytics, google search console. There aren’t counting,
   too. And I know for sure, there are a lot more unique visitors that should be
   there, but aren’t.
 * The numbers dropped from something between 300-500 unique visitors per day below
   10, maximum was 1. Only things counted are me and bots.

 * How did you enable SSL? How is your site hosted?
 * I use LetsEncrypt on many, many sites and on my own server as well as shared
   hosts, and haven’t seen any misreporting of access.
 * How are you counting? In Google search console and analytics, do you use “[https://&#8230](https://&#8230);.”
   as the address for your site?

 * I only assume, what I mentioned isn’t safe. It is just guessing.
 * It is also shared hosting, I did enable SSL via activating newly implemented
   Let’s Encrypt (by the hosting service)
 * I use:
    [https://&#8230](https://&#8230); [https://www&#8230](https://www&#8230);.
   http:// [http://www](http://www)
 * No entry shows different. I enabled forced https in the hosting settings for
   Let’s Encrypt. (I can’t turn it off anymore, because then, my whole site is down…)

 * It would be best to force your site to use only one true URL — everything should
   redirect to [https://site.com](https://site.com)

 * Due to “forced” SSL / https I assumed it does exactly that.
 * Also, having with or without www didn’t hurt before. Why should it now? And how
   do I force? Redirect 301 in htaccess?
 * What should it look like?

 * I was thinking about this while at the gym (yeah, I know, weird) and wondered
   what your server access logs show.
 * Please provide a link to your site so I can see if there are any SSL related
   errors.
 * With respect to WWW vs. non-WWW, I’m not entirely sure it’s relevant any more.
   But whatever the final destination is, that’s what should be entered as the site
   URL for analytics and webmaster tools.

 * So, no errors. Any ideas where to look it? What to ask my hosting provider?

 * check your access logs — there are a number of programs you can use to generate
   a day of stats, then compare them to the stats on GA that you suspect are wrong.

 * Every tool I used, has wrong stats. I have no access to those kind of logs, I
   guess. But with AWStats, the numbers dropped, too, as in GA or as in every plugin
   for wp I checked.

 * Well, then, I’m flummoxed. It may be that either your pre-SSL stats were wrong
   or it’s just a coincidence.
