SSL Install Broke Everything But Homepage & Dashboard

I have been trying to make this work for several days before giving in and posting this question. I have tried editing the .htaccess file, tried editing the .cfg files, tried resetting the permalinks…. NOTHING I have found in about 50 different forums has helped me! Why would the dashboard and homepage load fine in https but nothing else will (keep getting 404 errors)???? Please help me ASAP! I am going crazy here.
