• Hello,

My WordPress just updated automatically today. While looking my site over to make sure nothing changed, I noticed that it brought me to the http version of my site. When I go to the https version, it turns the top menu bar into basic html (no font style, small, vertical menu as opposed to my normal horizontal menu with font styles). Is there a reason for this? I would like to fix it so that I can direct traffic to my https site version. For reference, my sites that have problems with this are jarettwegner.com and curingaromas.com

    Thank you,
    Jarett Wegner

The 4.7.2 release (or any other release, for that matter) works on either http or https sites. So, whatever problems you are experiencing there doesn’t really have much to do with WordPress.

Do you have redirection of some kind enabled to force either HTTPS or HTTP?

Your problem is mixed content. Your page loads over a secure connection https but your CSS and JS files are linked using http connection.

This is flagged by browsers and leads to “insecure” assets being blocked.

That’s why your page is loading with just html when you use the https version of your site – because the other resources are blocked.

    Solution?

Configure your SSL properly and make sure you fix the mixed content issue by linking all of your assets using https instead of just http
