 * Does this plugin working with a secure site?
 * I’ve tried a couple of times and I get an error saying it failed to load or something.
   Just wondered if it is because we have HTTPS.
 * Regards
 * Dean

 * [@infolotnicze](https://wordpress.org/support/users/infolotnicze/) have you tested
   the latest version of the plugin?
    Many things have changed but I don’t currently
   have SSL setup anywhere to test this out..

 * The respons is:
    Bad response from Smush.it
 * so no go for SSL 😉

 * [@infolotnicze](https://wordpress.org/support/users/infolotnicze/),
 * Just taking over support of the plugin code from a previous developer and trying
   to hit some open threads.
 * I’m not sure I understand the issue. The plugin makes an outbound call from your
   host to the Yahoo! Smush.it APi service. The URL called is [http://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ws.php](http://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ws.php)
 * So I’m trying to figure out how SSL ([https://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ssl-2/?output_format=md))
   plays into the question. If your WordPress site is setup for SSL then the admin
   screen should function as needed. There should be no limitation on connecting
   to the remote Yahoo! site over non-SSL as this is done from the server PHP code
   and not within the browser environment.

 * Well I install the plugin, go to media and hit smush it for a single image and
   after a second or two I get:
    Bad response from Smush.it
 * That is all. Th plugin stopped to work after I moved to a SSL site (not only
   Admin but also the frontend is SSL)

 * [@infolotnicze](https://wordpress.org/support/users/infolotnicze/),
 * I take that back. I do see the issue. If the image URL provided to the API is
   https:// The Yahoo! service will not process it. It MUST be non-SSL.
 * Adding a fix for this in Smush.it 1.6.5.1

 * Thanks!
 * Do I understand that it will start to work in this fix?

 * [@infolotnicze](https://wordpress.org/support/users/infolotnicze/),
 * Correct. Just tested this on my own WP site where I run the admin under SSL.
   That is when I noticed the issue. When the admin is under https it builds the
   image URL also using https. So I’ve added code to the upcoming 1.6.5.1 version
   to convert the https:// image URLs passed to Smuch.it API to http:// url.
 * Should be released in the next 24 hours.

 * Hi [@infolotnicze](https://wordpress.org/support/users/infolotnicze/) Yes this
   should be fixed in 1.6.5.1, please download it and try it out 🙂
 * [@dcaccounting](https://wordpress.org/support/users/dcaccounting/) could you
   give this a spin too please?

 * Hi,
 * I still get:
    Bad response from Smush.it Re-smush
 * I think that without Yahoo suplying SSL this will not work on my site as everything
   is enforced for SSL.

   van Aarssen,
 * Are you both stating that your images are ONLY available via SSL? The plugin
   we offer attempts to convert the https:// URL for the public image to http://
   when calling the Smush.it API. If the image is NOT available via non-SSL ([http://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ssl-2/?output_format=md))
   then Yahoo! will report the error.
 * Realize this is NOT a bug with the plugin but a limitation with Yahoo! Smush.
   it service. IT simply does not allow image URLs that are https://
