Is there something within this theme that turns off WP’s src_set attribute?

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for using Dynamic News.

Nope, there is nothing in the theme which removes the srcset attribute.

However, WordPress will only include images within the scrset attribute that match the same aspect ratio as the image in the src attribute.

The featured images used in Dynamic News have a custom defined image size, and there are no additional images sizes defined with the same aspect ratio. For that reason, the scrset attribute for featured images is empty because there are not other featured images with the same size.

The scrset attribute should be included when you insert normal images in the Editor, though.

    Hope that explanation made sense.

In order to solve that, you can define additional custom image sizes for the featured image sizes which use the same aspect ratio, but a small width and height.

    Cheers,
    Thomas
