We upgraded to woocommerce square 2, and use latest woocommerce, a little bit ago, and finally after lots of resyncing and changing categories everything seems to be ok (fingers crossed),

    – Thanks for itemizing the purchase items to square, i think that made the stress of the update and figuring out how to resync everything worth it

    – We do have an issue with variable products when all variants do have stock, the main product is showing out of stock now somehow due to square’s checkbox for managing inventory I believe. This hurt our microdata / snippets and started showing to search engines that they were out of stock. (I have a temporary override for this currently)

    – it would be nice if variable product skus just synced to whatever sku square had regardless of categories, as we had different category structures on woocommerce vs our POS square and the categories seemed to be a factor, somehow we got it syncing again, it did help to have skus assigned to everything, although i’m not sure why that’s necessary

    – We use square loyalty, is that an option to hook into in the future? Or write our own plugin to integrate this?

    You are welcome 🙂

This is a bug with 2.0 that we are addressing with the release of 2.0.2. The the system of record has no default for new installations, it’s only set to that upon upgrade if users had product sync enabled. That means in v1, users who had product sync enabled would have been pulling product data from Square, not WooCommerce – Due to that, it was kept as the SOR in v2 per square’s spec, and you had about 2 minutes to change that if you were using WooCommerce primarily as the inventory control hub.

Each SKU has to be unique so that Square can track it accordingly and requires SKUs for each. More on that is at this link.

You can try to write your own plugin, and get developers at Codeable to assist. They can be reached at https://woocommerce.com/customizations

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
