Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan » SQL Syntax Error on “malwareprefixes” line import

We were restoring one of our sites from a backup SQL database and the import was failing at the line with “malwareprefixes” in it. The host company removed this line and the import completed.

Can you explain what the “malwareprefixes” line is and how I can restore it in the Wordfence configuration?

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

  • Hi Jane,
Answering to your question, “malwarePrefixes” is a set of strings (saved as binary data) that the Wordfence Scanner uses if you have Malware scanning enabled. A cached version of this data is saved in “wp_wfConfig” table.

I think something wrong happened while importing this data into the database, without the exact error message while importing the database, I don’t think we can know what happened. So I would recommend setting the option to delete Wordfence data on deactivation and just deactivate and reactivate the plugin.

Perhaps if the old website is still running, you can export Wordfence settings and import it into the new website after re-installing the plugin.

    Thanks.
