Support » Installing WordPress » SQL Error During Successful install

  • Hi,
I can setup the wp-config.php fine, but when i get to step 1 of the setup i start getting errors like:
    SQL/DB Error:
    [Table ‘snafu.abz_options’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT option_name, option_value FROM abz_options
Nethertheless, these dont stop the installation. I can install it and login as admin, but then anything i try to do that has something to do with the database [add/edit posts, or options] throws up more errors.
I’m 100% sure that the info in my wp-config.php is right.
The server is running Apache and PHP 4.3.5
And i just tried installing the nightly but got the same error…

  • Hey, got it sorted. My ‘admin’ hadn’t given me permissions to edit tables in sql.

Hi hope you can help. I have 2 problems on my upgrade to 1.2 which I am doing as a complete reinstall. Problem 1 is a mysql error as follows.
‘Database error: [Unknown column ‘post_date_gmt’ in ‘where clause’]
    SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <= ‘2004-05-02 22:53:59′ AND (post_status = “publish”) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 20’
It seemed to install OK. As far as I can see in phpadmin it all seems OK but
mysql and php are not my thing.
    I am atthe404
    TY.

I have had a look at the table wp-posts and there is no post_date_gmt. Could that be the cause of it. If so where do I alter the code please?

Well I solved the post_date_gmt problem. Even on a new install we need to run wp-admin/upgrade.php. All running smoothly now.

I had the same problem, ‘Database error: [Unknown column ‘post_date_gmt’ in ‘where clause’] blah blah
Running wp-admin/upgrade.php took care of the problem. Thanks
