“SQL Database Gone Away Error” Found one cause

    Had been suffering from the “MySQL Database gone away” error for about a month.

    From what I could discern from investigating, it was taking to long to post and the database was timing out.

    Finally, I disabled my plugins, one by one to see what was causing the slow down and found that “Global Translator Plugin” was the culprit. See here: http://www.nothing2hide.net/wp-plugins/wordpress-global-translator-plugin/

    Don’t get me wrong, I love this plug in, but is definitely the cause of this error, at least for me.
