 * I want to verify that I understand exactly what the “SQL Database” is before
   I do my backup. As I understand it, that’s the text or ‘blog’ data that I have
   on my website. All the rest of the stuff in Public_html has to do with theme
   and how I have things set up in general. I have limited downloads, and backed
   up the entire SQL and Public_html in Sept. The only things that have changed
   since then are the additional text I’ve added. Can I get away with just backing
   up the SQL files?
 * You are dealing with a real ignorant person here. I’m even too ignorant to make
   sense of trying to search for this info. I appreciate the help.

 * No.
    All content is stored in the db, as well as the relationships between your
   posts and pages and media, as well as plugin settings, user info etc. Here is
   a good outline : [https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/wordpress-database/](https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/wordpress-database/)
   [https://codex.wordpress.org/Database_Description](https://codex.wordpress.org/Database_Description)
 * The theme and plugin and media files are located under /wp-content folder.
    The
   rest are core wordpress files.
 * You can backup with a migration plugin :
    [https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/](https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/)
 * Or, downlaod the wp-content folder(s) and your SQL.
