[resolved] Spun homepage circles linking and appearance (4 posts)

    Hi all

    Apologies if this has been asked before but I have checked but can't see the answer.... I have 2 questions about the behaviour of the circles:

    a) At the moment if I click on a circle it will take me to that particular post. Is it possible to have 2 of my circles linking to a different post to which they are attached? For example: Post A circle links to Post B

    b) Caroline told me how to remove images completely from the homepage circle so that only the post title is displayed, however I now have decided that 2 of my circles I'd like to see just an image and no post title, this is possible if I don't add any text but then there is one circle which does have images and text that I'd only like the text visible and not text overlaid onto the image. Is this somehow possible? I'm thinking not as whatever properties I change will be applied to ALL circles and cannot be applied to just a few, but maybe I'm wrong?

    thanks very much
    Polly :-)

    a) You might be able to fudge it by changing the code such that you manually point the "post" to whatever link you desire using a custom field or something similar:

    b) Each post can be targeted with CSS using its ID, with a class name like .post-id-1234 (where 1234 is the post ID). Therefore, you can target specific elements of a single post (like the title) to hide them, while keeping the others the same:

    .blog .post-id-1234 .some-element {
      display: none;

    thanks a lot for all your help...
    just been looking into custom fields to see what I can do, it's a bit more complex than I thought it would be so decided to stick with what I have. It's useful to know that each post can be targeted though as that will come in useful at a later date i'm sure.

    thanks again

    Targeting posts/pages with CSS has to be one of my favorite things about WP. :)
