Spun – circles cut off with hard corners? | WordPress.org

I just installed Spun and the photo I uploaded doesn’t appear to have a smooth circle, but looks cut off on the four ‘edges’ like a square. Is there a way to fix this before i build a bunch of galleries? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I’ve tried the suggestions I’ve stumbled on so far but no luck.

Right now, I am just experimenting with this theme but the thumbnails look awful so far. Not sure if this would be resolved if i ‘upgrade’ but I don’t really want to spend the money till I am sure I can make this work.

ok asking again – i have installed the theme on my self-hosted site and i am still having the issue with thumbnails not appearing as proper circles. can anyone give me a point in the right direction of how to make this work?
