Support » Plugin: Spiffy Calendar » [spiffy-minical] code quit working in widget sidebar

  • Resolved kvoth

I love Spiffy Calendar, but I have a little problem. I was using the mini calendar in the side bar and a full-size calendar. All was great. Then I changed the day the week begins from Monday to Sunday. The full size calendar made the change fine, but the mini calendar died. I took out all the code, put it back in, no luck. Erased the whole text widget and started again, no luck. Changed the start day back to Monday, no luck.

    Any ideas?

  • What actually happened? Did the calendar display at all or was nothing there? Can you give me a link to a sample page showing the problem?

I suspect there is some kind of conflict with another plugin or your theme.

Thanks so much for writing back! AND I figured out the problem and a fix.

I had originally installed an AJAX Event calendar by Eran Miller, but it had some problems, so I found Spiffy Calendar and installed it. Then, once it was working and I had moved all the information from the old calendar, I decided to deactivate the unworkable calendar plug-in. For some reason, deactivating it and deleting it caused the problem. I figured that out by reinstalling it. And ta da! It worked again.

So, it’s not necessarily a conflict with another plug-in. I don’t know how these things work, but perhaps they share something similar.

I’m using Spiffy Calendar for an online grazing magazine. The first issue comes out March 21, so you can’t see the whole thing. But you can see the mini-calendar on the front page and click on a link to the larger version here:

Thanks again for the great plug-in!
