Support » Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com » “Speed up image load times” cropping transparent png

I have three images all the same width. They are all transparent pngs.

When “Speed up image load times” is enabled in Jetpack, all three images are cropped to remove transparent parts of the image. I don’t want this. It messes up the way the three images look together.

Is there anyway to stop Jetpack doing this?

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Our image CDN does not crop images at all that I know of. It just caches multiple compressed versions of the image at different sizes in order to load them faster for visitors to your site. But the actual image should not be modified in any way.

Can you please provide a link to a post/page on your site where we can see this?

It would also be helpful if you can give the image URLs for these files in your media library, as well as the Photon URLs that are loaded on your site. To find the latter, view the image in the browser inspector and copy the image URL appearing there. The URL will start with http://i0.wp.com/ or similar.

Interesting. Thanks KokkieH. I will do, definitely, although I won’t be able to get back to it for a couple of days.
