Support » Plugin: Rotating Tweets (Twitter widget and shortcode) » Speed of the text moving

    I’m using the plugin via the PHP method, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to alter the speed that the new tweet moves across the screen.

    I’m aware of how to alter the delay between new tweets rotating, but I’d like to be able to slow the speed down of the new tweet moving.

    Anyone done this that can share?

    Many thanks,

    James

    If you’re set to use version 2 of the JavaScript on your Rotating Tweets settings page, then in line 1279 of rotatingweets.php change

    'speed' => 1000,

    to

    'speed' => 2000,

    and it will cycle half as fast between slides.

    I’ve dropped it in as an option (e.g. speed='1000') for shortcodes in the development version as well – and this also requires you to use version 2 of the JavaScript.

    With the development version installed, you can use change the speed via PHP either via something like:

    <?php rotatingtweets_display( array( 'screen_name' => 'your_twitter', 'speed' => '2000')); ?>

    or

    <?php echo do_shortcode( "[rotatingtweets screen_name='your_twitter' speed='2000']" ) ?>

    Awesome, Martin!

    Thank you, that’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
