• Hi

A company are running an existing wordpress website with a membership plugin, allowing customers to sign up to the website and be delivered specific content.

They now want another website that uses the membership of the first website.

    For example

Sign up to a membership with site1.com
Log in to site2.com with this membership and view specific content

I presume I need to change site1.com to be multisite in order to have the visitor use their login from site1 on site2.

I have never used multi site before, would it work like that? The two websites are completely separate in terms of design and content and url (I guess I can remap the domain for site2.com).

Would this work, would a plugin installed on a multisite website work on all sites in the multisite?

    Thanks for any advice

  • Hi.
Most likely this will not work because the membership plugin will store different data about access permissions on each site (unless it is made specifically to work with multisite in the way you describe). Just test it on a test multisite to see.
