    Hi,

    I am having difficulties in having a specific sidebar show on my category pages. I created my own sidebar and added a HTMl widget in it just syaing “Test”. I want it to show up on the categorypage in the link above.

    Still I see the default sidebar and widgets. I chose the side area and sidebar options for selected categories (= “alles over diamant”) and I did the same for the Archives Types and Category archives. Still I do not see the word “test” but still I see the theme’s default widgets and sidebar on my categorypage.

    How can I solve this?

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards, Richard

  • Hello @richard_vermeer

    Hope all is well!

    The sidebar location should be set as Category Archive > As Sidebar for selected Category Archives. Looks like this is ser correctly.

    Please make sure that in Appearance > Widget the default sidebar is allowed to be replaced. Please see this screenshot.

    In case you wish to show/hide a certain widget in a sidebar on category arhive, please edit Visibility, and select Categories from the list to show or hide the widget. See this screenshot

    Please let me know how it went!

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

    Hi,

    Thank you very much for your respons.

    Looks like the settings are okay. Please see this screenshot and this screenshot.

    Unfortunately it s still not working. I also do have specific theme widgets, could those interfere? Or maybe some plugin?

    Is there a possibility you can take a look at the back-end of the website?

    Thanks again.

    Regards,

    Richard

    Hey @richard_vermeer,

    Hope you’re well.

    I think you are changing wrong sidebar. When I check your screenshots and the site https://www.sylvesterandriessen.nl/category/alles-over-diamant/ this page looks like using “Sidebar Page” sidebar. But you are trying to replace “Sidebar” sidebar. So is this can be a solution?

    Cheers,

    Hi,

    I am afraid I do not understand completely what you mean. I want to replace the current sidebar with my own sidebar (= Trouwringen categorie widget), which should only be shown on the categorypage “alles over diamant”.

    If I am doing something wrong, please let me know.

    Is this also what you indicate in your answer?

    Thank you for your respons.

    regards,
    Richard

    Hey @richard_vermeer,

    Let me explain you in more detail.

    When I check your site sidebar looks like this;

    And when I check your screenshot it looks like “Sidebar Page” matching with category page sidebar;

    But at the other screenshot it looks like you are trying to replace “Sidebar” sidebar;

    As far as I understand from your screenshots you need to select “As Sidebar Page for selected Category Archives” which is one option under the current selected.

    Cheers,
    Oguz

    Okay,

    Not sure if I already understand completely, but it worked anyway!! 🙂

    My widget shows in a sidebar on the correct categorypage:
