    I tried everything and no luck so far. I need to change my URL to allow the custom taxonomy terms to appear before the postname.

    My current URL is:

    http://example.com/holiday/remote-australia

    holiday = CPT
    remote-australia = CPT item

    I also have a custom taxonomy (holiday_category) and a custom taxonomy term (adventures) for that.

    My desired URL is:

    http://example.com/adventures/remote-australia

    When you say "custom taxonomy term" do you mean a tag, or a category?

    If it's a category, you can simply put /%category%/%postname% in the custom permalink input field.

    It's a category.

    The /%category%/ doesn't work for custom term. What I need is the term from my custom taxonomy to appear on the URL.

    Are you talking about a custom post type? Please be more specific with what you mean by "custom taxonomy" so we understand where it comes from.

    Oh, I see what you're talking about. Sorry, I was being dense :-)

    Take a look at this tutorial, it may have the answer to your question: http://shibashake.com/wordpress-theme/add-custom-taxonomy-tags-to-your-wordpress-permalinks
