Just checking in, are you close to a fix for the above issue?
Yes, quite close. It’s not a tough fix, I just need to have the time to test it out and push to the WP.org repo. Give me a few more days and I’ll have this figured out. It looks like the core wp_mail function is doing the encoding so I’ll need to figure out if I can circumvent that.

This fixed the issue in the subject line, but the problem still exists in the body of the email, anyway you can apply the fix globally?
Sorry for the trouble. I applied that change and a few others to the body of the email as well.
