sparkling theme make menu item open category

    i am using the sparkling theme https://wordpress.org/themes/sparkling/

    i have nested categories
    so i have

    mainCat (parent category)
    -subCat1(chlid)
    -subCat12 (chlid)

    Now when i create a header menu i want the mainCat to be click able right now it is not clickable it has # as the href

    how to achieve this?
