  • Hi… I am having problems with my site.. I recently hosted a site in Network Solutions… It is almost finished to be published, but I came to a problem and I don’t know what to do. http://www.situacionmexico.com is already up, and I don’t know why, the menu with “México” and “España” are diplaying, but I can’t seem to include any more…

Everything ran fine, the first days were really easy to setup and add content, but when I got to configuring the navigation menu, I tried to include all of my pages and categories (sub-menus) and to my surprised it crashed… it loaded and then sent me to an error:

Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): El servidor ha cerrado la conexión sin enviar ningún dato. (Server has closed connection without sending any data).

It happens every time.. I don’t know what to do… the dashboard works perfectly, everything works perfectly but this.. and ONE specific post that is not working properly either…

I have come to the conclusion that is because I am using some spanish characters like “ñ” and corazÓn” “´”… could this be the problem?? is there a plugin for that?? or something that can help me?

By the way, I already installed the wp-Typography plugin and the HTML Special Characters Helper and nothing seems to work.. please help..

    Any help?

  • There seem to be more than two menu items now. Have you fixed this? In which case, could you mark the thread as “Resolved”. It just helps others who are searching the list.

    If not…

I’m sure it’s not the accented characters that are causing you a problem. There are many, many Spanish language sites. And there are sites like my own that are in Welsh, very often, that uses far more esoteric characters than Spanish. Not to mention all the sites in non-Latin character sets.

Exactly what causes the error to appear? Is it when you click on “Save Menu”?

And what do you mean when say that one specific post is not working?

Have you made any other changes?

The general first advice is to disable all plugins and see if that has any effect. Then re-enable them on-by-one to see which one is causing the problem (if the disabling did get rid of the problem).

If you’ve made other changes, hopefully you’ve made them in a child theme so you can go back to the parent theme and see if that cures the problem.

    Un saludo

Yeah, as it seems, the special characters aren’t the problem, although I still don’t know what seems to be the problem.. I deactivated every plugin and it kind of worked… had some problems, but worked.. I activated all plugins again and something seemed to have a conflict with WordPress CP.. I think its Jetpack plugin from wordpress.com in my case… but I am still not sure..

I have to make some more tests and I will get back to you when I solve this issue. Thanks!

Definitely it has nothing to do with the plugins… It could be wordpress itself…

I can’t seem to fix it.. And it has gotten even worse..

Everytime I want to add a post in my blog it crashes… Everything is working.. my WordPress CP is working fine, I go to my posts, add new, configure my post and content, and whenever I hit publish or preview it crashes.. It loads and loads and then I get an error page.. The thing is that, most of the times, it actually publishes it.. I get the error, but then I go to my website and the article gets published… but whenever I hit preview it crashes too.. Can’t seem to know that is causing the problems… I deactivated all plugins and still the same…

Anybody has any idea why this is? Anyone has the same problem?
