• Spams your pages with ads for Paypal products without asking, which you then have to manually remove in all kinds of submenus. Not cool.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the feedback.

PayPal Payments integrates a wide range of different PayPal features that are aimed to improve conversion, including Pay Later, and enables some of them by default:

In the standard configuration, PayPal Payments automatically displays the PayPal Pay Later features for eligible visitors. These features are optional, and both the Pay Later button and messaging can be individually disabled from the Pay Later settings tab.

The integration can also be configured to display only the PayPal smart button, if that’s what you’re looking for.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    “These features are optional”

Anything optional should be disabled by default, anything else is plain bad practice.

    Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that having unasked content appearing on your site can be annoying. While the option to enable or disable certain features is a common practice in software development, there is no universally accepted standard on whether features should be enabled or disabled by default. It ultimately depends on the specific use case and user needs.

The Pay Later feature has been proven to effectively boost merchant conversion rates and significantly increase cart sizes, with a reported 39% increase as per PayPal’s Q2 Earnings Report in 2021.

However, while it is one of the key functionalities provided by PayPal Payments, the display of Pay Later features is an option that can be enabled or disabled from the dedicated settings page. If it’s not to your liking, you can easily turn it off in the Pay Later tab.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the feature, the support team would be more than happy to assist you. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
