    Hi there,
It’s a week now since I started getting spam subscribers. What I can not understand is how they manage to make auto-subscriptions even if there is no public newsletter form (not that I know, at least!). The only way for a user to signup for the newsletter is complete a purchase on the website and opt-in for the newsletter.

Turning on email verification doesn’t help because a) they don’t belong to any list, so I would never send them emails in any case; b) verification emails get bounced back because those emails are in spam lists.

So I’m wondering: how did they got signed up?

    Thanks!
    Have a nice day,
    Stefano

We’ve just released MailPoet 2.8 with ReCaptcha support, this should help.

    Actually, it doesn’t, since

Try to enable captcha even if you have no forms, it should block the spam.
