    Hi there,

I have a small site in EU with external cookies. I want to continue in that way in order to avoid a cookie consent banner.

Is it possible to add some spam protection without adding third party cookies?

    Best Regards,
    Peter

  • Hi,

I don’t want to advertise other plugins, but Friendly Captcha is a GDPR-compliant solution to your problem. I would suggest you take a closer look at the plugin.

Otherwise, Forminator has an integrated honeypot protection function which you could try out.

    Hi @pstidsen

As mentioned by @cartoonhank honeypot could help in that matter:

    Kind Regards,

    Hi again,

Unfortunately, the honeypot did not take enough spam.
I will try the Akismet plugin now.

    Best Regards,
    Peter

    Hello @pstidsen,

I hope things are going well for you. Thank you for trying the Akismet Plugin.

Here are the detailed steps that you can follow to have an easy integration experience:

    1. Download the Akismet Spam Protection Plugin from the Plugins page.
    2. Sign up if you don’t have an account (They will charge for an account if you set it up like for personal use, then you can get it free)
    3. After the account creation, they will share the API
    4. Add the API key into the Akismet Spam Protection Plugin’s setting.
    5. You will see a configuration screen on how it will protect from spam
    6. enable the option from Forminator > Forms > Behaviour > Akismet Spam Protection > Turn ON.

That’s all you need to do. Please give it a try and share the outcome.

    Kind Regards,
    Imran Khan
