# spam overload

 * Hello,
 * I have been using the free version of the plugin for some time now, but recently
   i’m getting an awful lot of spam entries. Over 3000 a day!
    Is there any other
   security/validation methods which can be put in place to stop this? If I upgraded
   to the paid version, is there extra features which help combat spam?!

 * I believe this comes with a monthly subscription though. I was hoping that the
   pro version might have a more robust security measures built in.
 * I will upgrade though and hopefully this might work.

 * I’m not sure what you think comes with a monthly subscription. Akismet is can
   be free for personal sites ([see pricing](http://akismet.com/plans/)).
 * VFB Pro is per site, not per year.
