Spam Hijaaks Domain Name

    I’m getting a lot of spam from one IP address. The concern that I have is that whoever is doing this is hijacking my domain name. For example, the spam will be sent from joeschmoe@mywebsite.com.

    I’d really like to stop this because I think this person has someone hacked into my site.

    Is this something I have to worry about? How do I stop it? What else do I need to know about this sort of activity.

    I think it’s unlikely to be the result of a hack. It’s just a spam bot that grabs your domain name and turns it into a semi-random email address. If you are using Akismet, I’d suggest you don’t mark these as spam but just trash them instead.
