When you search for my blog on google, it comes up alright but the “synopsis” section on the search results are showing content that is clearly spam – it looks something like
Jul 25, 2011 – To raise it, he asks whether it s better to pay off a car loan or a credit card first. Jun, to raise it, he asks whether it s better to pay off a car loan or …
This is really frustrating because it is what people see as the description of my site when searching for it.
I checked the Google Cache for my site and that spam content IS in the cached version, and also a link out to the spammer’s site. I can provide this if anyone is interested.
HOWEVER: In the *actual* source of my site, that content is no where to be found. It is no where in the database (I did a fulltext search) and it is no where in my wp install files (I did a full search there too).
When you simply visit my site as well, it isn’t there. So this is only showing up in google search results, and only in google’s cache, but not when you view my site natively.
Any idea what could be causing this?
