# Spam comments, why?

 * I’ve noticed that I get lots of vague innocent comments caught by Askimet. Yes,
   these are spam. But there are no links in them. Why do spammers send out these
   comments? Suppose they were to get posted on wordpress, what benefit does it 
   give the spammer?

 * Typically, the spam URL is filled in the commentator URL field, not the actual
   comment itself.
 * It helps the comment to look more “innocent.”
