Support » Plugin: Contact Form Clean and Simple » space character in name field causes failure to send

  • Hi,

Just discovered a bug that has taken me ages to pin down (thought at first it was an issue with ModSecurity Rule in server, but it appears not) – vis:

Test: input a name containing a space character in the ‘Name’ field, eg: “firstname lastname”, with good data in all other fields. Click ‘Send’.

    Actual Result:
    1) the ‘capture’ test produces a list of images to choose from – test completed OK
    2) The ‘Send’ button appear to do nothing
3 Inspecting browser console shows “403 Forbidden” error against POST to admin-ajax.php.

    Expected Result:
    1) capture field responds to ‘human’ click only – ie. no need for image recognition test.
    2)Confirmation screen & successful email

    Variations on Test attempted:
    1) With Ajax disabled in plugin settings – same test with space in name field shows complete “403 Forbidden” screen against contact page URL
    2) With AJAX enabled in plugin settings – but with NO space character in Name field, confirmation screen is presented OK and email is sent OK

    Test Environment:
    WP V 4.4.1 latest
“Contact Form Clean and Simple” Plugin V4.6.1 latest
    Linux, LiteSpeed, MySQL, PHP 5.6.

Please could you look into this & fix? Many thanks.
