It seems WordPress automatically put space enough between words to fill out a whole line and I wonder if I can disable this function so there’s only one space between each word?

Maybe wordspacing in your theme’s style.css.

I made a search in my theme’s style.css but couldn’t find anything about wordspacing.

I think you’re looking for alignment, not spacing. Sounds like your theme (guessing… a link would help!) has CSS to justify the posts.

well, the theme (which is the default one, heh) adds enough space between the words so the length of the lines are all the same.

Let’s say each line is 100 chars wide and I write a piece of text which is 280 chars, it will add 20 chars of spaces throughout the text, so it will reach 300 chars in total and be three “full lines”.

Spaces are not being “created” and inserted…. it’s the text alignment… it’s probably set to “justified”… try changing it to “left”….

Great! Would you do us a favor now and mark the thread as resolved? There’s a link up at the top to do that.
