[Resolved] Space between menu and body in twenty eleven

    @juliecf

    Hi,

    I’ve created a child theme voor twenty eleven and managed to make a lot of changes.
    However, I’m stuck on the following: there is a lot of space between my navigation bar and my text.

    I’ve added the following code to my child style file:

    ‘.singular.page .hentry {
    padding: 0em 0 0;
    }’

    and it has moved up the text a little bit, but as you can see in this picture it hasn’t moved up all that far and now the ‘edit’ button collides with the title.

    The website is http://www.rozenhoevedomburg.nl

    Thanks!

    Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

    Excellent progress so far, Juliecf.

    Try displaying none the hgroup (as you don’t have anything in the heading group);

    header hgroup {
     display: none;
    }

    Then remove the absolute positioning on the navigation;`

    #access {
     position: static;
    }

    For future occurrences of these CSS-specific issues, consider posting in a CSS-specific forum or using the Firebug tool Esmi pointed out.
