• Hi,

It has been a long time since I have checked my site, plugins, settings etc.
I just upgraded to WP 4.6 and I have the latest version of WPPA running (6.5.04). I don’t know if the problem existed before the upgrade.

I don’t know if this really is a problem or not, because the images on my site seem to be displaying correctly.
But, in the WPPA Album Admin all my files show as “Source File Unavailable.” I can see the image previews in the admin, and like I said, they seem to be ok on the website.

I looked at one of your older forum posts that said to:
Try ticking the box in Table IV-A18 ( Enable photo html access ) may help.
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/source-file-unavailable?replies=7

I did this (create all access .htaccess files) and have it as my current setting, but the files still show as unavailable in the admin.

I only came across this problem (and looked in the admin) because my Photo of the Day widget had disappeared. But, I have since deleted this widget anyway (no longer needed).

Like I said, the WPPA sidebar photo gallery and other WPPA images seem ok on the website. It’s only that all the images show as “Unavailable” in the admin.

I use Yoast SEO and Tablepress if that matters.

    Thanks

Having sourcefiles is entirely optional and dependant of setting Table IX-H1 and 2.

    Hi,

    I did as you suggested.
But, all the photos still show as unavailable.
Again, the photos are displaying correctly on the website.

I checked both of these (to their default settings). I’m not sure why/when/how they became unchecked. I have not gone into the WPPA admin in a long time, and I do not remember ever changing any default settings.

Keep sourcefiles admin Keep the original uploaded and imported photo files.
Keep sourcefiles frontend Keep the original frontend uploaded photo files.
    Both boxes are checked

    If this matters:
I also have left the setting at: create all access .htaccess files
I tried resetting it to remove .htaccess files, but it did not change anything.

I also seem to have some other settings that are not at default settings. For example, both of these are unchecked:
Use Ajax Use Ajax as much as is possible and implemented.
Ajax NON Admin Frontend ajax use no admin files.
I tried checking them, but it did not change the photos to available.

I have no idea how many other settings are not at default. Like I said, I never changed any of these settings.

    Thanks
    Andrew

.htaccess and ajax settings do not affect source files in any way.

Source files are only saved at the moment of upload or import. So changing the settings does not do re-appear sources of current photos.

Please try new uploads when Table IX-H1 and 2 are ticked.

If still no success, look with an ftp program (filezilla) if the following folders/files exist:

    .../wp-content/uploads/wppa-source/album-[albumid]/[orig_photoname.jpg]

Important question: Did you move your site to a different hosting provider or filesystem location? If so, pls verify the correctness of Table IX-H3: Source directory
