How can your plugin block the viewing of source code (besides disabling right click)? Using browser tools bypasses right click to get to Developer Tools. All the content is then available as right clicking is not blocked in that view. Perhaps the source code text could be color:white? Or by using a div with height and no scrollbar so as to push the code below the fold?

    Hi,

How can your plugin block the viewing of source code (besides disabling right click)?

Currently there is no option in our plugin to block viewing of the source code by the browser.

Using browser tools bypasses right click to get to Developer Tools. All the content is then available as right clicking is not blocked in that view.

That is correct but it is all messed up. The average person would not go and view the source code to extract information from a site. Editing the source code would be very challenging and in my opinion not worth the trouble. Also your terms and conditions should protect you against users stealing your content information IMHO.

Perhaps the source code text could be color:white? Or by using a div with height and no scrollbar so as to push the code below the fold?

Even if you did that, you can still view the content by highlighting the source code with your mouse. Then you simply copy and paste into notepad if you are using Windows.

If you need more information or help, please let me know.

    Kind regards

Unfortunately, we are dealing with not the average reader. And, a person who was up in the know enough to use the browser menu to get to the developer tools would also know enough to copy the whole html code and paste it into an html editor then look at it front end and read it perfectly well. This seems to be a serious vulnerability. And I do see no solutions in my research.

Hi, I understand what you mean. Unfortunately at present we don’t have a feature for what you are looking for. Have you thought of creating a membership site?

    Kind regards

A membership site wouldn’t do. I don’t want anyone in the back end where even more vulnerabilities would open. And, it is only one-time front end viewing. Thanks though.
