# SoundCloud code doesn't work on my theme

 * Hi,
 * I’ve tried to embed a SoundCloud code on my wordpress page but that doesn’t work.
   I’m using wordpress 4.0.1 and running Singl theme. No soundcloud-related plugins
   are installed.
 * What can I do?

 * Or, where did you get the code from?
 * Does it work on a default theme (i.e. twentyfourteen) with no plugins active?

 * I got the code from soundcloud, as I click on “share” and then “embed”, then “
   wordpress code”
 * I also tried on twentyfourteen, but doesn’t work either.
 * I’ve tried the first two plugins on the list, but I can’t use them because the
   content I wanna share is “private”, and just doesn’t show up there.
 * I’ve discussed it with SoundCloud as well, they tried it on wordpress and sent
   me a sample and it actually works. Moreover I also remember it worked weeks ago,
   is that because of an update I did? I updated wordpress. There still the chance
   to update the theme itself, shall I try?

 * You made need to update the theme. I would just get the soundcloud shortcode 
   plugin. I use it on a site I manage for a music engineer and it’s very reliable.

 * I just activated the soundcloud shortcode plugin, as Tali suggested me. How can
   I use it then? would you be so kind to tell me step by step? that would be awesome

 * if you have the latest version of wordpress, soundcloud can be embedded by simply
   pasting its link, no need to use any embed codes.
