    Greetings Jacob,

This plugin has been a workhorse for our site, so many options, its great. I was wondering if I’m missing an option to do some more advanced sorting of the search results.

Recently, it’s been asked if there is a way to ensure that the latest material added to the gallery shows up at the top of the search results. It was noted that it showed up at the bottom.

Currently it’s setup to send people to the “Photo search results” page, if that makes a difference in how to change things.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for your hard work on this plugin.

Photo search results are sorted according to the global photo sort method as defined in Table IV-C1: Photo order.

If it is inconvenient for you to change this global setting, you can overrule this setting on the search results page as follows:

    Change [wppa type="landing"] into:

    [wppa_set name="wppa_list_photos_by" value="-5"][wppa type="landing"][wppa_set]

Make sure wppa_list_photo_by is included in Table IX-A8: Runtime modifyable settings, or change the content of IX-A8 into all, and Table IX-A7: Enable in-line settings is ticked.

For more info on runtime modifyable settings see: https://wppa.nl/docs-by-subject/in-line-settings/

(Note: we no longer use the long form shortcode, so no [/wppa] and [/wppa_set] anymore; you may still use it, but no mix of long and short forms on a page!)

Thanks Jacob! You provide great support for this plugin.

There’s one typo in your response that if others trying to do this may stumble upon, like I did (I figured it out though). Where you write “Make sure ‘wppa_list_photo_by’ is included…” that should be wppa_list_photos_by. You may want to edit the post so if others are trying to do the same thing, they don’t get tripped up.

Thanks again for the response, and the great work on the plugin.
