  • I have set up my menu to sort my link catgories by ID, but my blog does not seem to be reflecting this change and is still sorting the link categories alphabetically. Is there a tweak I am missing to make this work? I’m an extreme nooby at all this 🙂

  • Not sure how much code you need, I’ve pasted here the menu coding from index.php… let me know if I need to make a change:
    <div id=”menu”>

    • <?php _e(‘Categories:’); ?>
        <?php wp_list_cats(); ?>
    • <?php get_links_list(); ?>
      <li id=”search”>
      <label for=”s”><?php _e(‘Search:’); ?></label>
      <form id=”searchform” method=”get” action=”<?php echo $PHP_SELF; ?>”>
      <input type=”text” name=”s” id=”s” size=”15″ />
      <input type=”submit” name=”submit” value=”<?php _e(‘Go!’); ?>” />

      <li id=”archives”><?php _e(‘Archives:’); ?>

      <?php wp_get_archives(‘type=monthly’); ?>

    <li id=”calendar”>
    <?php get_calendar(); ?>

    <li id=”other”><?php _e(‘Other:’); ?>

    If you mean that you set up the order in admin panel, that does not do it. That’s how the display will be in admin panel

    Forgive a nooby her ignorance, but how can I get the links to display by id or order my links list in the menu, not just the admin panel? Can someone give me an easy how to for this?

    <?php get_links_list(); ?>
    <?php get_links_list('id', true); ?>

    wait, no code changes!
    under links/link categories you can edit each category and change the sort order of each one to be whatever you want.

    Hmm, missed that. Might wanna try that instead.

    I’ve tried both and still no luck 😛

    No offense, but have you emptied your browser cache yet?

    It is not the links but the categories that has to be sorted by id (not alphabetically). The question is not about sorting the links, but sorting the categories.

    Ok, this was somewhat helpful to show me that it isn’t my settings but my Theme wherein the problem lies. I want to use separate Link Categories and show them separately which the style Theme I want doesn’t do — but when I swtched to zen-minimalist it was laid out as I want. So I need to focus on ruining the Theme to work the way I want it. (er I mean tweaking the Theme.)
