# Sort images by random

 * Hello!
    According to the [NGG changelog ](https://www.imagely.com/wordpress-gallery-plugin/changelog/),
   there should be the ability now in version 3.2.18 to sort images by random. However
   I am unable to find the proper setting to do so. How does that work?

 * I believe that our developer may have done some fixes for those that were using
   the setting as a shortcode parameter but it hasn’t been introduced as a setting(
   at least not yet ).
 * The shortcode parameter to apply the random sorting order used to be **order_by
   =’rand()’** and the shortcode used to look like the example from below:
 * **[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”2″ display=”basic_thumbnail” order_by=’rand()’]**
