Sort by Custom post type?

    Is it possible to sort the favourites by custom post type or even better a custom meta field? i.e. have a heading for the custom post type, then show the favorites for that CPT, then have another heading for next custom post type etc..

    Our site uses multiple custom post types such as restaurants, events, hotels etc. which are further categorised with custom fields in each CTP and it will be a mess if these are not sorted accordingly for the user.
