    Hi.
From the wp-admin page, using the admin of the site, When I try to click on updraft settings or on backup/restore, I get an error: Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

I’ve searched and I can’t see this, so apologies if its been answered elsewhere.

Bit of a noob on wp, but fine with html, raw code and modifying wp-config.php

    thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Are you logged as admin to the website? UpdraftPlus settings page is only accessible by Administrators of the website.

    Yes I was.

I even logged out of that admin account and tried one of the other admin users.

To prevent this issue and be able to install UpdraftPlus without problem, please first change the four authorization keys on your wp-config.php to something else. You can use the following link to create a set of four random keys ready to be pasted into your wp-config.php:

    https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/

Changing these keys will cause all logged in users to be logged out, forcing them to log in again the next time they access your blog. Other than that, there are no ill effect.

If you installed UpdraftPlus without taking the above precaution and are now unable to access your admin area, delete the UpdraftPlus folder, from within wp-content/plugins, and you’ll be able to login into it again. Then follow the above procedure to be able to install it.

    Thanks,
    Harshad
