First: I really love your plugin. It does an amazing job in improving website performance πŸ™‚

However, on one of my clients websites, the pagination link on blog page does not work as long as EWWW Image Optimizer is activated.

I tried deactivating all plugins, and the error occurs even when only Divi-Theme and EWWW Image Optimizer are activated.

    WordPress is on 5.5
    PHP on 7.4
    Divi is on 4.9.0
EWWW Image Optimizer is on 6.0.3

Is this a known issue? Can you be of any help to get this solved?

    Regards
    Michaela

Which of these front-end functions are you using in EWWW IO:
    Lazy Load
    JS WebP
    picture WebP
    Easy IO

If you’re using multiple, please try to narrow down which one causes the issue for you.
By the way, if I visit your site via the link provided, the pagination throws a CORS error and is broken also (http vs. https). I would suggest routing all http requests to https for starters.

    Thanks for your reply πŸ™‚

I found out that it is LazyLoad which is causing the issue, which I find strange as there are no images at all on that specific page.

    How could this be solved?

I need to dig into this further with the Divi folks, but I was able to replicate it and found that if you put ‘div’ in the Lazy Load exclusions, it will solve the issue.

This is related to our new feature in 6.x that allows us to lazy load CSS background images from page builders. This is specifically to assist with the way Divi (and other page builders) apply background images to any Divi elements/modules.

Note that using the exclusions isn’t a long-term solution if you use background images in Divi, but it should get things working until we can find the root of the issue and fix it.

Thanks a lot for your quick help. Putting div in the exclusions did the job for now πŸ™‚

I just heard back from Vlad at Elegant Themes, and they have a fix implemented that will be included in the next release of Divi.
