• My blog: scripturememoryfellowship.org/blog

I’m very new to wordpress, but have a basic knowledge of coding and formatting. I’m trying to add a widget that will allow visitors to the site to subscribe by email, following the same process I used to add the “recent posts” widget, but it does not show up on the blog. In fact, “recent posts”, “recent comments” and “text” are the ONLY widgets that I can get to work. Any suggestions?

trying to add a widget that will allow visitors to the site to subscribe by email

    which widget are you using?
is the widget related to a plugin?

It’s the “Blog Subscriptions” widget provided by the Jetpack plugin, but many of the pre-installed WP widgets are giving me the same problem.

    which theme are you using?
    which plugins are installed?
how many widget areas are available?
what process did you use to add RECENT POSTS?

    Theme: Twenty Twelve
    Plugins: Jetpack, WP Missed Schedule
Widget Areas: 3 – Main Sidebar, First Front Page, Second Front Page

Added recent posts by simply dragging from available widgets to main sidebar widget area.

if you click on the widget INSTEAD of dragging, do you find a dropdown menu appears with the list of Main Sidebar, First Front Page, Second Front Page?

Yes, but unfortunately adding any widgets using this method (other than the three mentioned in my first post) still results in the same problem.

I gave that a try yesterday, but had no luck. Any other suggestions?
