Support » Plugin: Sensei LMS - Online Courses, Quizzes, & Learning » Some things great, some terrible

  • I have to give this one a 2. There are some great things about the plugin, otherwise it would have been a 0, but there are some terrible ones. No support for the “free” version even though I had to pay for WooCommerce paid courses. I have had to alter the code in the lessons module as I kept getting an array error for the quiz questions. Fortunately, I am a developer, so able to so that. Quiz settings don’t save correctly to the database, sometimes takes multiple attempts to have settings save correctly. Lastly, and worst of all is the use of the Gutenberg blocks.

    Hello @nebulamedia,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and concerns about Sensei LMS.
I’m going to answer your points one by one as follows 🙂

No support for the “free” version even though I had to pay for WooCommerce paid courses.

I suspect there’s some confusion happening here – not your fault!

If you search for “support” in Sensei docs, there is no specific page that mentions that. Only the Sensei Pro: Licenses & Account support doc talks about it — on top of that, it is not the first option appearing, and you have to scroll down to search for it.

We are aware of that (again, thanks for flagging this up), and we’re taking action by creating a specific support doc for Sensei.

I have had to alter the code in the lessons module as I kept getting an array error for the quiz questions.

Can you expand what you mean when saying altering the code in the lessons module and quiz settings don’t save correctly?

I think this is related to a recent bug we discovered. We have reported it already, and our developers have shared a workaround to temporarily fix it while they were working on a definitive bug fix which was released a few days ago (August 16):

Lastly, and worst of all is the use of the Gutenberg blocks.

Can you tell me more about that? Is there something that bothers you specifically when working with Blocks?

Hope that’s all clear! Look forward to your reply, and thanks for sorting this out with us!
