Two recent posts have vanished from my blog (picturedujour.com). I did a search from the admin panel, checked drafts, etc. The posts are also apparently missing from the mysql database. I know the post numbers of the missing posts, because I had linked them to Facebook. In the mysql database, my newer posts have replaced the missing ones–IOW, post 721 is gone, but a newer post is now 721. I’m the only one that posts or administrates my blog (unless someone has hacked me).

I just now upgraded to 2.7, but this happened with 2.6 (2.6.1?).

Any suggestions would be appreciated–I can redo the missing posts, but I definitely want to avoid this in the future.

  • I’d say someone restored a backup of your database.

Recommend you get and install a backup plugin and have that backup emaied to you. WB-DB Backup will do that.

Thanks for the response. I actually did just install WB-DB! I’ll check with my host–maybe they restored the db…

Update: I just checked with my host, and they did in fact restore my database due to hacking on the server my account is on. I now have WP-DB scheduled to email backups daily. Thanks again for the quick response.
