Google wasn’t much help and I didn’t see anything specific here, but to be safe I’ll make em quick! * First, is there anyway to transfer Evolve’s theme settings? I’m not just talking about simply downloading an XML file, or maybe I am. The reason I ask is in potentially going with a different host, I noticed I had to start from scratch with my site’s Evolve settings. If there’s no way it can be done that’s fine, but if so, clearly I’m missing it! * Same goes for this next one, as I’d love to be able to change the color of the header… If that’s possible, and if I’m using that part in the right way. You know, where your logo \ site title and tag-line will go, right above the menu bar. Can that area’s color be changed? * Either way I appreciate the help in advance! Just to clarify, do you mean as long as the site address is the same, I should be able to transfer everything and not have to redo the settings? As it is I did the normal export to XML file through dashboard \ tools… The temp address was different from the main, and when I imported I saw that I’d have to retweak the site from scratch. * [@romik84](https://wordpress.org/support/users/romik84/) – Thank you for the help as well! But, and of course there’s a but, I didn’t see that option in either the WP dashboard or customize. If you mean under tools, that’s what I’m having the issues with. Once you do that, import/export is the last option under theme options, You can export the theme settings. * And if your URL doesn’t change, or any of your database information, you should just be able to backup the database, then import the backup to the new site. XML WordPress export is something completely different. If you want to back up the database, do it from PHPmyAdmin in cPanel on your host, or get the WP-Migrate plugin which also works great. I dont’ know whta you mean by temp address…if the URL isn’t the same, you do search and replace with the velvet blues plugin which works great for updating URLS. One problem, as you knew in your heart there would be; is when I attempt to import the settings, I don’t have the option to upload the file. I don’t have a clue what that means. * You know, nothing else works absolutely perfect. sooner or later, you will need to learn how to back up and restore a database manually from cPanel. But maybe this will work for you. Yes, you need the Redux Framework installed, this theme doesn’t work without it. How can you not know that? I meant that in working with two hosting companies and my IT guy, I didn’t want to get further bogged down into everything if I could help it. * And yep, I definitely know that but ignored it at my own peril! (Truth be told in learning about all this I had it on my list to look into the redux frame.) I don’t see a reason that you need to anywhere. Forgive me for the over-detailing. When you give someone help, you never quite know what their level of technical understanding is. Most WordPress users are at a certain level, which I obviously misjudged in your case. But you owe no apologies for that. I hope it works out for you. 2 hosts and a webmaster tho I would think you would have better help and not be struggling through it so much. So give an update after you install Redux huh? For me it seems if it’s too simple or too complicated, I have trouble, so I always look for that sweet spot! * But yes, I haven’t fully investigated the Redux yet but seems like a great plugin!
