These photos describe my problem. I am trying to publish PDF newspaper in DearFlip, but this happens to PDFs (advertisements etc.) imported into the newspaper PDF file. Not for every file, though, but many.

Some PDFs break just when I import them (the two on top) and some only when I scale them in InDesign (the bottom right one). So on the left, there is original versions and on the right there is scaled-in-InDesign versions. Sometimes, bottom left blue gradient disappears in DearFlip.

This problem does not appear anywhere else, such as when reviewing pages in print house’s online tool before they go in to the press. Neither there is any problem with print house or print quality etc.

Those two PDF files are created with CorelDRAW X6, published as PDF, then imported into InDesign CS6 and then exported as PDF with settings provided by print house. I should optimize export settings to get smaller file sizes etc. later for web usage, but first I have to figure out what causes this problem in DearFlip reader.

Ask me any about any information you may require to help solve this.

    Thank you for your response.

Here is a download link to the PDF file used in those two photos.

There is also noticeable solid color rectangle around “Mukavaa pääsiäistä!” text on top of the gradient, but that does not appear in final printed paper. Only while viewing it in PDF.

Thanks. I asked the site admin to do that.

I tried uploading the problematic pages to your site DearPDF.com 3D Flipbook sample, and they work normally there, so I assume that different version would solve this. We are going to get the full version if it starts working properly.

Do you have any InDesign export settings that you recommend for PDFs that will be used in DearFlip?

Also, is it possible to automatically make thumbnails from PDF front pages?

I’ll get back to you when the plugin is updated.

    Hi,

The older version of pdf library didn’t support all features like scaled and transformed positioning of PDF. The new version has better support.

    Best Regards,

    DearHive
