some pages have comments some dont?

    At my site http://www.chrisdixon.net I’ve got some pages (see the about links) at the top.
    If you look at the “About” pages they have comments disabled.
    However, today I created a “Contact” Page and this has comments!

    How can I turn off the comments for a page? I must have been able to do this for the other pages, so I’m at a loss to explain why I can’t for the new ones.

    Very confused….

    Right at bottom of post page; there is a box;

    allow comments

    Indeed there is for posts.. But this is not posts, they are pages and the same “Discussion” box does not exist.

    OK. For some reason the “discussion” box was turned off. I turned it on in the “screen options” drop-down but it only seemed to come back on for posts. After going into a previously made page when comments had been turned off, it mysteriously reappeared on the other pages.

    I think there was something funny going on, but not sure if I could replicate it.
