• Hi there

I have made several frustrating attempts to translate strings into German, but I am completely failing.

I have the Loco translator plugin installed & use a child theme.

Even when I try to load the main Evolve theme .po file, it only shows 107 strings & these do not include, for example those on the evolve Contact Page (including NAME, REQUIRED, SUBJECT, MESSAGE, SEND MESSAGE, etc & possibly any error messages), which i would like to translate. Where on earth are these strings & how do I get them to load into the translation interface?

I would like to know how to get these other strings for evolve & also especially for the child theme.

May be I should ask, that what is the correct way to make a child theme have full translation?

I must add that also for Poedit, which i have on PC, the de_DE.po file (German) also only has the 107, but many others as said, like those on the contact page, do not appear.

Any help will very much be appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Hi,

In the loco translate plugin you can re-scan all the theme strings.
Please try that and see if you are able to find the missing strings.

    Thanks!

    Hi

OK I did that & could load strings for the evolve theme & not the child theme, which only has 2, when I “create” a new translation.

How do I get the child theme to load strings from the source where evolve does or what files do I have to place in the child theme to get these?

    Thank you & kind regards

    Hi,

Sorry, got no idea. Never tried using a child theme with Evolve.

    Thanks!
