• My screen real-estate is important to me – especially with WordPress, where we need all the screen space we can get. Well, guess what? When your license expires on this plug in, you will get a PERMANENT admin warning at the top of your page letting you know that you should renew the license. You can’t dismiss it. It will not go away. It is just a new, annoying feature that you get as part of the Custom Facebook Feed package!

    Bad form.

    Hey @vaughn771,

When you license expires we display a notice to let you know, but it includes a “Dismiss” link so that you can dismiss it (see screenshot). The only place where it isn’t dismissible is within the Custom Facebook Feed plugin settings pages themselves, so once dismissed it will only show up in our plugin’s specific settings pages and no where else in your admin.

If you’d also like to remove it from the Custom Facebook Feed settings pages then let me know and I can provide you with some CSS to hide it there too.

Apologies for any inconvenience. I intentionally included a dismiss link so that it wouldn’t annoy people as I also dislike non-dismissible notices too.

    I hope you’re having a good weekend!

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, I do not have a “Dismiss” link on the notice on any screen (see screenshot)

    Hey @vaughn771,

That’s really strange. I’m really sorry about that. I double checked the plugin code and I can’t see a reason why the link wouldn’t be showing up. Are you using the latest version – 3.0.5? It’s possible that some CSS might be pushing the link off the screen or hiding it somehow, or that there’s an issue with our plugin just not displaying it for some reason.

I know this might be a stretch, but if I contacted you privately would you be willing to let me login into your site to take a closer look? I’d really like to know why the dismiss link isn’t showing up and make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to other users too.

Again, I’m really sorry about this!

vaughn771, you probably should delete that post and just message smashballoon directly. That is public.

@vaughn771 – yes please delete that information from here and remove that user from your site ASAP. Could you then set up a new user and contact me privately using the following form on our website: https://smashballoon.com/contact/

    Thanks!

Folks, it’s against the forum guidelines to ask for login access to people’s sites.

The reason? To protect @smashballoon ! If @vaughn771’s site breaks after the ‘help’, he could get sued. So … don’t. Don’t ask for it, don’t give it. Not here. We really don’t think it’s a smart idea nor is it safe.

Also Please don’t sign your posts, @smashballoon, and don’t ask to be contacted privately off the forums. If you have a premium support model, they can use that instead of the forums. But not here. We don’t want you to get in trouble 🙂

@ipstenu – understood. @vaughn771 – please could you submit a support ticket via our website here and I can help.

    Thanks!
